Laurent Ferreira is Executive Vice-President and Co-Head, Financial Markets, a responsibility he shares with Denis Girouard. He is responsible for National Bank's wholesale banking activities and treasury, including Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Equity, Fixed Income and Derivatives. Mr. Ferreira is a member of National Bank’s Office of the President.
Mr. Ferreira joined National Bank in 1998 and successively held the positions of Senior Manager, then Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Derivatives and Equities within Financial Markets. Before joining the Bank, he worked for two years at Bankers Trust.
Mr. Ferreira has been a member of the board of directors of Hydro-Québec since 2014. He is socially committed and contributes to the success of several charitable causes. He was notably co-governor of National Bank’s United Way Centraide campaign in 2016 and 2017 and is now copresident of the fundraising campaign for the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation.
Mr. Ferreira has a Master’s degree in Finance from HEC Montréal and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Université du Québec à Montréal.
