Jean-Francois Babin is Executive Vice-President, Managing Director and Co-Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC). Mr. Babin is responsible for National Bank’s sales and trading activities for the fixed income, currencies and commodities businesses. He is also responsible for National Bank’s Corporate Debt Capital Market, Government Debt Capital Market, Global Power & Infrastructures Financing and Risk Management Solutions Group.
Mr. Babin is a seasoned manager with 30 years of experience in the financial sector. He joined National Bank in 2006 as Managing Director and Head of the Risk Management Solutions Group. Prior to joining the bank, he held various positions in the derivatives sector at CIBC, Bankers Trust and Credit Lyonnais in New York.
Mr. Babin is also a member of National Bank Financial Markets Management Committee, Financial Markets Deals Committee and Financial Markets Risk Management Committee.
In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Babin has been Co-Governor of National Bank’s United Way Centraide Campaign since 2018 and Member of the Major Donors United Way Centraide Campaign Committee of Greater Montreal since 2018.
Mr. Babin holds a Master of Science in Finance from University of Montpellier and a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Mathematics from Concordia University. He also completed the Associates' exams of the Society of Actuaries.
